Why choose a handmade

Ironbridge Bicycle

All our frames are built using Reynolds 853 frame tubing and some selective Columbus seat and chain stays.

We only use quality frame parts such as Paragon Machine Works dropouts and machine bottom brackets together with other fine cast components. All frames feature the laser cut Ironbridge rear stay bridge and distinctive head-badge – these are made locally in Telford.

We only braze our frames

Either filleted joints or high quality lugs which are all hand-filled to perfection to give that classic look only found on bespoke frames. Each frame comes with a certificate of authenticity which is initialled at each key stage of production by the crafts people who make it.

Lugged frame

A classic lugged frame with wrap around top-eyes brings back the elegance of the hey-day of British frame building.

Post Second World War, through the bike boom of the '50s tapering off in the 1960s and then the late 1970 and early 80s boom to taper off again in the late 80s and almost dying off in the 1990s, lugged steel frames ruled! More grand Tours and classic races have been won on steel frames than any other material.
